Danielle Fabro
ETP-ALL (Early T-Cell Precursor Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia)
8-year old, Danielle is in 2nd grade and lives at home with her parents, siblings, grandmother and her beloved pets, Mojeaux and Dash. She loves life, animals, people, and Jesus, and enjoys church, fishing, crabbing, and being with family. In March 2022 Danielle was taken to the ER with a high fever. Her parents were told that she probably had cancer, and she was immediately transported to Children’s Hospital New Orleans for a diagnosis of a rare form of Leukemia: ETP-ALL (Early T-Cell Precursor Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia). Tests showed 95% of her bone marrow was leukemia cells; she had to undergo high-risk, aggressive chemotherapy. In the following months, she experienced extensive time in the hospital, intensive chemotherapy, 9 sinus surgeries due to an invasive fungal infection, integrative therapy, necrotizing pancreatitis, and high blood pressure. After 7 months, major changes in nutrition, and many prayers heard by God, Danielle’s scans showed no evidence of disease. She is still undergoing a two-and-a-half-year chemotherapy protocol at Children’s Hospital, as well as integrative treatment in Kansas.
