Shannon Olivero

Stage 4 Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma

Shannon and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 29 years. Together they have 3 children: Samantha, Artney, and Mayah. Shannon is a graduate of Immaculata High School and received her pharmacy degree at ULM and has been a licensed pharmacist for 29 years. In August of 2021, Shannon wasn’t feeling well and went in for a test for what she thought could be gall bladder problems. After several tests, she was told she had ovarian cancer. However, it wasn’t until after her surgery that she was diagnosed with a rare form of appendix cancer, Stage 4 Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma. Shannon has had several surgeries since then and has been on four chemos every other week since her diagnosis. Recently, Shannon was informed that her platelets were not replenishing, and chemo was no longer an option. Within the past two weeks, she has had a nephrostomy tube placed and a partial splenic embolization in hopes to aid in replenishing her platelets to give her a chance to be a candidate for chemo again.
